really good(!) was almost instantly hooked

this is the story about a lady who meets & adopts a barn owl from its age ~4 days until ~20 years

she talks of the many ups & downs, the learning processes, his intelligence & behaviors, his language skills, cuddling & attempts at mating [he apparently chooses her as a mate, complete w/ vocalizations &, uh, behavior]

Stacey works at CalTech university; so his domesticated behaviors become study subjects for her colleagues [cataloging sounds/behaviors for instance]

great stuff; full of insight
