"The Pythagorean Sourcebook and Library" by Kenneth Sylvan Guthrie
book review by Riley Burnham 10/30/2024
well, this was good - a THOROUGH overview & dive into Pythagorean ideas & such
my initial takeaway, which basically stands, is that the character is legendary [read: fictional], & that he's used as like a placeholder for these concepts... who knows there, altho it's a well-tread path to view him that way
i enjoyed some unique perspectives on TONS of topics, just introducing ways of looking at things or particular definitions that are aha-inspiring [like saying Apollo means Not Many lol, indicating the Monad]
so anyway, it's a pretty good read, & interesting enough to recommend for a good ponder
