well... i finished it(!) hahaha

almost stopping multiple times, i finally completed this thing

i first liked the focus on friendships taking precedent at the center of our lives -- a role so commonly assigned overwhelmingly to our romantic partners -- that was refreshing(!)

most of the book focuses on gay couples & the myriad of relationship forms that can take on, focusing extensively on law

it's basically a lot of reiterating conversations/interviews w/ people she had; so the focus tends to be on live-in partners looking for Equality -- i admit i started considering this a victim narrative...

as a straight white man, i guess i'm defaulted to roll my eyes at some of this [the harping], altho conclude w/ a sort of "whatever" approach -- the reason i read the book was to perhaps revitalize my own friendships...
