"The Book of Hope" by Jane Goodall & Douglas Abrams
book review by Riley Burnham 10/5/2022
good book; a delight to hear Jane & Douglas also narrating it
i enjoyed Jane's stories; her perspectives; her career & fruits, showing much about animal behavior
she mentioned some events that i sincerely question (man walking on moon, etc.), & lots about viruses which i also am skeptical of
she said she took a job as a secretary early on, which led to her filling a secretary role in a field she was interested in; thus getting her foot in the door
interesting hearing her talk about speaking to the Bilderberg group in Davos [she pressed them for fervor & they responded w/ a prolonged standing-ovation, bringing her nearly to tears]
ultimately, it's nice hearing compassionate takes on society
one of my favorite anecdotes from the book was her daily shot/drink/glass of whiskey, which originated as a synchronized connection w/ her mom -- continuing onward in celebration/reverence: very cool
good times
