"The 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing" by Al Reis & Jack Trout
book review by Riley Burnham 12/27/2022
well right on -- this one is informative & thorough
presenting each 'law'/principle of marketing w/ a common-knowledge example is useful: considering the various ways companies have tried avenues of marketing & their results...
a takeaway for me is to be First to a market [or category] to be #1, more or less... he uses McDonalds, Coca-Cola, etc. as examples in their various fields & how each [& many] find their niches
there are principles likes competitive differentiation which are drawn out here [& best ways to approach] -- like McDonalds 'owning' "fast" & lots of other angles [kids' toys, Ronald's Playhouse, etc.] & advices on certain formulas that win ongoingly [see: White Castle]
lots of focus on automobile manufacturers & their numerous blunders [entering wrong markets; how certain companies are perceived nationally & internationally, etc.]
it's a solid book; worth reading; & way more thorough & elaborate than i'm willing to recap
