"Scars and Stripes" by Tim Kennedy

well... on the one hand, i really liked a lot of this book -- i'm a HUGE UFC/MMA fan & know of Kennedy through that route

so parts of this book were good & interesting, & a LOT of it struck me as definitely fiction -- like comic-book-esque

Tim, seemingly helped by his co-author, rattles off a shitload of military & Special Ops stories...

i tuned out most of the on-&-on-&-on of the "we're the good guys; must stop & kill the bad guys!" or "hunting Nazis" [lol] or other probably fictional missions

my impression is that, being special ops, Tim's role is to sell the military & propagate some huge lies [space race, nuclear weapons, Holocaust, war on terror... yuck]

so, in the end, i like Tim's spirit, being a rollicking athlete & all, & suspect there is a lot of wink wink nod nod being strewn here
