well this was pretty good

a linguist/grammer professor taking us into the weeds on many English language mechanisms

she discusses rules & exceptions, funny things like double-apostrophes "couldn't've" [i forget which exact ones she used]; ain't, funner; & blended colloquialisms [Greek words w/ Latin suffixes]

overall good book, as a bit of an exercise
