"Peace, Love & Healing" by Bernie S. Siegel

realllly good(!) went well w/ his other book right before it ["Love, Medicine & Miracles"], which he recommends pairing w/ lol [in this one] 👍👍

this is a doctor/surgeon recommending people reconsider their approach to medicine/healing in a sense: advocating a psychological treatment/view into many illnesses [people's cancers recede when they have breakthroughs [repressed emotions it seems; lack of acknowledgment or addressment -- often a private battle]]

he recommends laughing [a whole body workout; good effects on mental & physical being; social/relational; fun...]

he describes [in one of these 2 books -- probably both] choosing a hospital room [if one needs it] w/ a window view & if possible a tree outside, as patients improve markedly better

he talks about the types of people that recover/heal, vs those that are ready/prepared to die or have given up [he says people who take control/affirm responsibility/their part in their healing, etc. survive & do much much better]

​​​​​​​he advocates against people being given exact-ish times for when they'll die, as it sort of hurts their esteem & injures hope

lots of learned advice in this book, & i DO highly recommend it w/ his other one [mentioned above]
