really good(!)

made me want to visit the city [of course]

we get here an up-close portrait of a quaint, sun-drenched city in France -- considered one of its most beautiful

the pace of life is different here [he calls it 'slow'], where stores, shops, gossip, & pretty much everything differ just slightly [from his native England], down to the gesticulations & particulars of the French

he paints it like a distinctly great place to live, absorbed in life & its many riches; distant from the hustle bustle & anxieties of Paris, etc.

we get descriptions of travelers coming through seasonally, & the sleepers at the bars [welcome there]
