really good(!) extraordinarily good book -- short & sweet

this is a surgeon/doctor's ideas & practices on health & fighting disease/staying alive, as well as thoughts on the psychological connections to recovery -- that being they're intimately related(!)

we hear of people whose diseases reflect their mental world [a lady has something to get off her chest; eventually a double-mastectomy]; a son is a "pain in the ass" for the father, who gets colon cancer [type stuff]

we hear of things to say to folks under anesthesia [speak to/about them as if they're away, & stay positive!]

some folks hold out as if waiting for the OK to release/die [this seems to be common], & others can see or hear things like premonitions [lots of stories to support this]

wholesome, likely sound, & a good & worthwhile subject matter
