whoa(!!!) this is a thoroughly good story

whether entirely true or embellished, we get a tale of youth falling into drugs & mischief; getting sick & crashing to bottom

​​​​​​​w/ both parents deaf then divorced, he struggles through school, & since moving across the country, has social issues & also some very close friends 👍👍👍

by the end, he sobers up(!) & begins a career; also becomes a man after his dad's passing [in the book]; then we get a privileged account of sitting shiva & that process 🙏

all said, thoroughly interesting & engaging; worthwhile wholly
