i liked this one(!)

written in the 1970s, this is a narrative from journal entries by May, who as the title suggests, lives alone

she begins cataloging her experiences, w/ the stated goal of self-examination & therefore growth from less desirous habits/traits

she's mature, wise, reflective...

lots going on within confined walls -- from hosting meals & seeing friends to corresponding w/ readers of her existing works

she gets exhausted & needs to recharge

good stuff
