"Heartbreak" by Florence Williams
book review by Riley Burnham 9/12/2022
good book -- extremely good audio production
this is a story of, well, heartbreak, & the healing process from there
a mother & wife whose partner leaves after decades of marriage -- identities in turmoil -- sadness aplenty
i appreciate her explorations of this concept, from brain-scanning to therapy -- to the grand adventure of a solo canoe trip in the desert [right on]
in the end, it seems that heartbreak can be lessened by being active, social [connected], & somewhat healthy, though it's obvious that aspects of the heartbreak will linger; such is life
a good takeaway is that solitude & isolation: the kind often befalling grieving partners, can produce a toxic stress balance -- meaning it's probably bad on the health to sit around heartbroken
reconnecting w/ nature
