"Blessed Are the Misfits" by Brant Hansen
book review by Riley Burnham 7/27/2022
audiobook: super good
a big part of this book is the concept of being questioning about the nature/relationship of "god" or God
Brant has good levity, mixing humor & practicality [reasonable & humble] into a narrative of successes & failures [lots of failures to be honest] & interesting stories [such as heroism, honoring the weak & outcasted; the nature of half-stories, etc.] & if i could summarize:
goodliness happens to those who are "misfits" [he says this is God's team], & that the nature of paradoxes essentially promises this a la biblical texts
so it was refreshing, light, & left me w/ renewed interest in helping/serving the infirm, w/ the knowledge/awareness that those particular acts/gestures proffer the most satisfactory returns
i appreciate his writing-style
