the guy who got his arm stuck in a canyon in Utah while hiking alone; trapped for 127 hours before cutting his own arm off & getting rescued

wow(!) what an excursion

from rationing water to drinking pee; this is an up-close & harrowing journey -- a race against the clock

the movie did an excellent job capturing this; so the big takeaway in the book is his perspectives & thoughts as he tries various things; the walkthrough of severing one's own arm; & the subsequent rappelling required to get to fresh water

finally spotting hikers, he gets to a helicopter then to hospitals
