this time w/ an emphasis/focus on the outsiders; on Alaric, for instance 

​​​​​​​we learn of the conditions during when Rome famously fell; we get some historical timeline corrections; we get some insinuations...

​​​​​​​overall, it rounds out some of the concepts swirling in my mind about this period
