well this was pretty good -- a memoir of his childhood

we hear about Flea as Michael, who grows up in semi-broken/difficult circumstances & eventually becomes a renowned musician [Red Hot Chili Peppers] & apparently actor lol

lots of drug experiences; lots of heartache [Flea chokes up while reading repeatedly] -- it felt sincere

he's advised to get a bass & replace the member of his friend's band, which he does [& so is born haha]
